More Than 1200 People Attended the Student Excellence Foundation’s Second Annual STEM Expo
More than 1,200 students and parents, some from as far as Schaumburg, attended the second STEM Expo presented by the Student Excellence Foundation of Wheaton-Warrenville District 200 on November 4 at Hubble Middle School.

NEW 200 Education Foundation Is Now the Student Excellence Foundation
As part of an effort to better reflect its purpose and audience, the NEW 200 Education Foundation has under-gone a rebranding campaign and is now the Student Excellence Foundation for Wheaton-Warrenville District 200. By emphasizing “Student” in the new name, the focus is on the children who attend the 23 schools within the district. Other changes include a new logo, tagline, and website.

NEW 200 Education Foundation to Recognize Six District 200 Teachers
April 26 Event Also Raises Funds for Support Our Students Grants
The public is invited to attend the NEW 200 Education Foundation’s second annual Distinguished Teacher Awards and Pizza Tasting Event on Tuesday, April 26 at Wheaton North High School (701 W. Thomas Street*). Admission to the fundraiser is $8 for advance sale tickets and $10 at the door for adults; $5 for advance sale tickets and $6 at the door for children between the ages of 3 and 10; and no charge for children, age 2 and younger. This year there is a family rate of $26 in advance and $32 at the door. Advance sale tickets may be purchased online at Eventbrite.

More Than 700 People Attended NEW 200 Education Foundation’s First STEM Expo
More than 700 students, parents, and other community members attended the first STEM Expo which took place at Hubble Middle School on January 28. Designed to provide elementary and middle school students the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiments and observe science, math, and technology-based demonstrations, the expo sold out quickly. Plans are already being discussed to expand the 2017 event to accommodate even more students and their families.

STEM Expo Provides Hands-On Activities for Students
NEW 200 Event Takes Place on January 28 at Hubble Middle School
The NEW 200 Education Foundation is providing elementary and middle school students an opportunity to participate in hands-on experiments during its first STEM Expo. Exhibitors, break-out sessions, and a cryogenics show are among the highlights of the expo which takes place on Thursday, January 28 from 6 until 8:30 pm at Hubble Middle School.

District 200 Teachers receive $22,000 in “Support our Students” grants
This fall the NEW 200 Foundation received 17 “Support our Students” grant requests and because of the generosity of our donors we were able to fund 16 of them totaling $22,000. The goal of these grants is to enhance educational opportunities by providing new, creative teaching programs and methods to inspire students to become enthusiastic and engaged learners.

NEW 200 Foundation Sets Fundraising Goal for 2015-2016 Academic Year
Local Mayors Join Foundation as Honorary Board Members
Following a successful year of implementing new programs and surpassing its fundraising goals, the NEW 200 Foundation plans to raise $50,000 during the 2015-2016 school year. This year’s funding initiatives include classroom technology, individual teacher grants, S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) projects, and differentiated reading materials.

NEW 200 Foundation Provides District 200 with 40 Chromebooks
As part of its goal to increase student access to new technologies, the NEW 200 Foundation has provided every school in the district with two Chromebooks. The schools will integrate the Chromebooks into classroom and resource learning.

C2 Education Offers ACT Practice Test as NEW 200 Foundation Fundraiser
Test Administered to High School Students on May 30
High school students can take a fully administered ACT practice test to gauge their readiness for this important college entrance exam while benefitting the NEW 200 Foundation. Diagnostic testing in math, reading, or writing for students from 4th through 8th grades also available.
