New Executive Director

The Student Excellence Foundation Board of Directors is excited to announce that Vicki D. Sebela has joined the Foundation as its first Executive Director.  A 27-year resident of Wheaton, Ms. Sebela brings an in-depth knowledge and love of this community where she raised her family.

Sebela previously served as the Executive Director of the Wheaton Chamber of Commerce. Under her leadership, the Chamber experienced unprecedented, exponential growth and community visibility. In addition to helping launch the Downtown (Wheaton) Business Association, Sebela served on the City of Wheaton Plan Commission and Comprehensive Plan Development Committee. She was a member of the Wheaton Lions and Kiwanis Club, for whom she chaired the Safety City Development Committee. Sebela has also served on the Wheaton History Center Board of Directors.  Many will remember reading her weekly column “Wheaton Happenings” in local newspapers, as well as feature stories and her coverage of the District 200 School Board and DuPage County Board.

In her position as Executive Director, Ms. Sebela will work closely with the Foundation’s Board of Directors in oversight of its fundraising and grant programs, which support its mission to “engage the community to enrich educational experiences that empower students to reach their greatest potential.”

“On behalf of the Student Excellence Foundation Board of Directors, we look forward to working with Ms. Sebela to continue growing the Foundation. Her experience and strategic thinking will be a great asset to the Foundation, thereby expanding our support of innovative programs for students in District 200,” said Pamela Paulsen, Past President of the Foundation.

This new position is fully funded through the Student Excellence Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit that is the education foundation for District 200. Since 1992, the Foundation has granted funds for new projects and teaching methods that enhance and enrich the educational experience of students.
