Stars of the Week
2021 Inspiring Staff
The Student Excellence Foundation is acutely aware that the work D200 educators do on behalf of our schools and students has been challenging in this season — to say the least. We want to send a bit of encouragement your way! We are rolling out a brand new initiative called Stars of the Week*. With inspiration from the Student Star of the Week program often seen in our grade schools, the Foundation is seeking nominations of staff members by staff members — those who have inspired you (in-person or remote).
Beginning mid-March and running through the end of May, one classroom teacher and one staff member per building will be named Stars of the Week. This is where we need your help.
Here is the quick & easy two-question nomination form. Please let us know who in your school should be recognized for efforts that are unique and positive, have gone above and beyond, have inspired and encouraged.
Nominations are due by February 17, 2021. You may nominate one classroom/virtual academy teacher and one staff member from your building. There is a section on the form for both classroom/virtual academy teacher and staff member nominations. Any teacher/staff member is eligible for nomination if currently employed by District 200, but self-nominations will not be considered.
The Star of the Week recipients and their principals will be notified in early-March and will be recognized and celebrated on a weekly basis throughout the semester on the Foundation’s social media platforms, via email, and during the Celebrate Our Stars virtual event in June.
If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to receiving the nominations of those colleagues who have inspired and encouraged you, and then celebrating their efforts as Stars of the Week.
*You might wonder if Distinguished Educator Awards will occur this year. Yes! In a few weeks, we will open nominations to the entire community. Distinguished Educator Awards will remain a committee-reviewed award process, while Stars of the Week nominations will only be between colleagues in a building or in Virtual Academy — a unique opportunity to honor inspiring colleagues at each D200 school in this season.
